At times, divinity can be a difficult discipline to study, comprehend and apply to everyday life.
Saint Paul, probably quoting the Prophet Isaiah, said it best: “Who has known the mind of the Lord…so as to instruct him?”
All attempts to pigeonhole, categorize or restrict God to spiritual labels, religious boxes or theological terms, is like saying God lives in temples made with human hands.
Make no mistake about it: ‘The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain God. How much less any earthly edifice!’
Despite the complexity surrounding some Scriptural subject matters, which may never be understood on this side of eternity.
Regardless of the complicated biblical issues, which continue to tangle up scholars, critics and skeptics alike; God is crystal clear about what He expects of His children.
Deuteronomy details the FIVE things that are required of us:
- Fear the Lord
- Walk in all His ways
- Love Him
- Serve the Lord with all our heart and soul
- Keep the commands
This is for our good and benefit.
Compliance with these simple to understand (challenging to obey) expectations, releases God’s blessings.
Our adherence to His Word affirms that we belong to and believe in God.
Let’s pray for His sustaining grace to obey His life-giving word.
