Power in the name of Jesus

There is power in the name of Jesus…

– to break every chain of bondage

– to heal sick bodies [Acts 3:6]

– to save condemned souls [Acts 4:12]

– to bend every knee and move every tongue [Philippians 2:10-11]

– to release abundant life

– to obtain the blessings of Heaven [John 14:14]

A Prayer for Love

I serve a church called Richmond Christian Church in Staten Island, NY.

This morning, I felt impressed to share with Richmond, the words the Apostle Paul wrote to a church in Turkey.

Here is my pastoral prayer for love:

If we speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, we are only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If we have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if Richmond has a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, we are nothing.

If we give all we possess to the poor and give over our bodies to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, Richmond gains nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Jesus

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

Had no army, yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today!

Surrender your life

Surrender yourself to the Lord… (Psalm 37:7 GW)

Surrendering your life means:

– Following God’s lead without knowing where he’s sending you.

– Waiting for God’s timing without knowing when it will come.

– Expecting a miracle without knowing how God will provide.

– Trusting God’s purpose without understanding the circumstances.

~Rick Warren

God never fails

God never fails to keep a promise He makes.

“God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent” (Num 23:19)

He wants us to get in His Word and listen for His voice.

There is where our responsiblity comes in.

God gives promises, but we must be willing to patiently wait for Him to fulfill them.

Never try putting God in a time box!

Instead, leave room for Him to bring everything togeher according to His plan and His timing.

You’ll be glad you did.
